The Lemonade war, by Jacqueline Davies The lemonade war is about two siblings, Jessie and Evan Treski who get mad at each other because Jessie skipped a grade and Jessie and Evan will be in the same grade which Evan does not want. Five days before school, the Treski family gets a letter saying Jessie and Evan will be in the same class next year. Evan does not want that so  he says he hates Jessie and has a lemonade stand with this kid who Evan thinks is a jerk.. Jessie wants to challenge Evan so she starts a commotion, who can earn the most money in five day by just selling lemonade. The goal was $100 and the winner kept it all.  I really enjoyed this book because it teaches you about money and I really like lemonade. The other good thing that I like about this book is that the characters are about the same age as me and I can relate to them a lot easier. The last thing that I like about this book is that I am very similar to Jessie, but not in the sense of being the youngest. I thin

Scat by Carl Hiaasen

This is yet another book by Carl Hiaasen  who has wrote Chomp and Hoot. In this book there is a biology class that goes on a field trip in to the everglades but someone starts a very contained fire to scare the classes away because they are doing illegal oil drilling. One of the teachers has to go back into the swamp because someone dropped their medicine. The teacher later calls into the school and says she will be gone for a family emergency. Nick and Marta want to find out why their teacher is gone and what she is going.           I liked this book  because for one I love the books by Carl Hiaasen, two it goes back and forth of who is telling it, three, because it talks about endangered animals. There are a lot of lessons in the book because there are so many people telling it. In my opinion I think the main lesson is to care about nature and the things you have.          I would recommend this book for people who have read more of his book like Chomp and Hoot. People who li

This is the second book in the Crossover series. This is the story of Josh and Jordan's dad when he was a kid. Charlie Bell’s Dad died because of a heart attack and his Mom sent him to stay with his grandparents for the summer. When he is there he meets a cousin named Roxie who goes to the Boys & Girls Club and plays basketball. Charlie had never played basketball before. Playing with Roxie was the first time he had played. At the end of the book Skinny, Charlie’s friend, comes to where his grandparents live and Skinny’s cousin Ivan and Skinny go to a skating rink with Charlie. Ivan wants Charlie to hold his backpack that has drugs in it. The police find the backpack with Charlie and Skinny and they went to the court. In the end Charlie had to go home early. I like this book because this is the second book in the Crossover series and it is written in poetry just like the first book. It's still about basketball, and we get to know more about Josh and Jordan’s dad when he

In this book Josh and Jordan Bell are in middle school and they both play basketball together. Josh and Jordan are twins and Jordan has a girlfriend that Josh does not  like because he feels she is taking his brother and he does not want his brother to change too much. I should also say that their dad is a famous basketball player that played in Europe. At the end of this book there is a tragedy that is very sad for the boys and their mom. In my opinion I really liked this book because I like basketball and I really like how it was written in a poetry like form where  the words flow and the words do not go to the end of the page. I think the lesson in this book is even if you are growing up you will never leave your sibling. I would recommend this book to people who like basketball and poetry. I hope you read this!
