Scat by Carl Hiaasen

       This is yet another book by Carl Hiaasen who has wrote Chomp and Hoot. In this book there is a biology class that goes on a field trip in to the everglades but someone starts a very contained fire to scare the classes away because they are doing illegal oil drilling. One of the teachers has to go back into the swamp because someone dropped their medicine. The teacher later calls into the school and says she will be gone for a family emergency. Nick and Marta want to find out why their teacher is gone and what she is going. 

        I liked this book because for one I love the books by Carl Hiaasen, two it goes back and forth of who is telling it, three, because it talks about endangered animals. There are a lot of lessons in the book because there are so many people telling it. In my opinion I think the main lesson is to care about nature and the things you have.

        I would recommend this book for people who have read more of his book like Chomp and Hoot. People who like reading about panthers and people who like a mystery to solve. One last thing that people might like is the substitute teacher the biology class gets for a while.
