The Losers Club book review

Image
This is not a book in the Penderwick series. My mom and I are in number 4 still. The Losers Club by Andrew Clements Main characters:  Alec, Nina, Kent Setting: Bald Ridge Elementary Summary: When Alec has to go to extended day program after school all he wants to do is read but unfortunately there is no option for that. YET. Alec wants to start his own club where he can just read but he needs to find someone else who wants to start the club. He names his club the losers club because he just wants his club to only be him and someone else. By the end of the book it is the biggest club in the  extended day program and even bigger than the active games area. At the end he has to think of some way to present to all the families at his school for back to school night. The way he presents , I think is really cool. This is a great book and Andrew Clements is my all time favorite author so in those regards I would recommend any of his books. Happy reading! I may or may not do a...

Another Penderwick book review...

T he Penderwicks at Point Mouette   Author: Jeanne Birdsall Main characters: Skye, Jane, Batty, Alec, Jeffrey, and Aunt Clarie Summary: when the three younger sisters go to Point Mouette with their favorite aunt and Jeffrey comes with them to get away from his mean family, Skye has to face the challenges of being the OAP(oldest available Penderwick) and trying to let Batty not blow up. They have all these adventures including Jeffrey finding his long lost father.  I really like this book because I thought it was a little funny when Skye was trying to be a good OAP and do everything else because Aunt Claire got a little hurt . I recommend this book for everyone because it is a funny novel and very heartwarming when Jeffrey finds his dad. This book will want to keep you reading even when it is past your bedtime!

The Penderwicks on Gardam Street

Image
Author: Jeanne Birdsall Title: The Penderwicks On Gardam Street Main characters: Rosalind, Skye, Jane, and Batty Setting: Gardam Street Summary: The Penderwick sisters are back with more adventures! When Aunt Claire comes for a visit with a note from the girls mom that suggests that Mr. Penderwick should start dating, the girls have to come up with the save daddy plan so that they do not get a new mom. Lots of silly things happen while they are trying to come up with a plan and the ending has a fun twist. I recommend this book for kids in grades 2-5 like normal and this is a good book to read with an adult so that you can talk about some of the dating matters and questions that they could answer more easily.  Look for next week's review: The Penderwicks At Point Mouette enjoy reading!
